Breanna + Andrew | Downtown Vancouver wedding at the marriott pinnacle hotel

We kicked off a very busy wedding season at the start of the month with Breanna and Andrew’s gorgeous Downtown Vancouver wedding. The wedding took place at the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel.

With weather that is often overcast or rainy the only way to ensure you have sunshine in Vancouver on your wedding day is to bring your own with a summery yellow colour scheme. This DIY urban Vancouver wedding boasted eye-catching citrus yellows and cool greys for a fresh summery feel. With her handmade bouquet in hand Breanna had her first look at her handsome groom Andrew at Coal Harbour, in the downtown core of Vancover overlooking the ocean, Stanley Park and the north shore mountains.

Guests signed river rocks instead of a traditional guestbook and snapped sassy candid with a polaroid camera, as they arrived for the ceremony. The outdoor ceremony took place on the upper balcony of the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel, among the skyscrapers, overlooking the Vancouver Convention Centre where the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Cauldron rests. Following their vows the party enjoyed savory canapés and beverages during an patio set cocktail hour overlooking the city.

For the reception the bride and groom created their own stunning centerpieces using sliced lemons & fresh cut flowers such as yellow billy buttons and golden forsythia. For favors they gave away assorted citrus jelly beans in matching grey handmade boxes with lemon coloured ribbons. After dinner they cut their silver ribbon wrapped cake and enjoyed an intimate first dance before a decadent dessert bar was presented by the hotel.

Although it was mostly overcast for the day Breanna & Andrew brought a little sunshine to what’s otherwise known as “raincity” with their summery fresh city wedding.
